Irene R. Haxton

Irene Ada Rosemary Haxton age 85, of Toledo, OH formerly of Perrysburg, OH passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Swan Creek Care Center. Irene was born in London, England on October 4, 1927 to Charles Henry and Ada Lily Thorp Moore. Irene and her husband Don were married on June 12th 1949, and had 64 years together. Irene was employed as a travel agent for Hayes Travel, AAA and Galloway Travel. She loved to travel and had been all over the world, often escorting groups. She volunteered at the hospital in Cape Coral, FL. Irene was an avid reader and enjoyed socializing with her many friends and family. Surviving is her husband, Donald J. Haxton; children, Carole J. CJ Dennis Vereb Troup, James B. Sharon Haxton and Lesley A. Brian Worthington. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Riley J. Dawn Troup, Brandon Worthington, Lindsay Worthington, Shane Mariann Hillard, Kyle Jill Hillard and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Irenes family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone at Swan Creek and Senior Independence for the excellent care and assistance they have provided to Irene over the last 6 years. A Celebration of Life for Irene will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the Reed chapel at Swan Creek Retirement Center 5916 Cresthaven Lane, Toledo from 12 Noon until the time of services at 2:00 pm .
