Ilona Joyce Miller

Ilona Joyce Miller, 69, of Toledo, Ohio died Wednesday morning from natural causes while under Hospice care at her nursing home, Arbors of Sylvania, where she has been a resident for the past 3 years. Ilona was born in Toledo on June 7, 1945 to Louis and Mary Szabo. She graduated from Whitney High School in 1963. Shortly thereafter she met Robert Franklin Miller whom she married in 1965. Together they raised 3 boys. Ilona enjoyed visiting with family and friends most of all. Playing card games was a routine pastime, especially poker. For the last 25 years of her life, she and her husband shared the hobby of touring in a 1914 Model T Ford around the Northwest Ohio area. One of Ilonas favorite things to do was taking loving care of her husband, Robert. Ilona is survived by her children, Robert L. Miller, daughter-in-law Theresa Luken, Scott F. Miller and Todd J. Miller, daughter-in-law Lisa Miller; grandchildren Zachary, Brandon, Aaron, Mackenzie, Aubrey, Danny, Holly and Emily; brother Marvin Szabo, sisters Marlene Dansack and Loretta Kovacs. Ilona was also survived by countless relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers Louis Szabo and Leonard Szabo and her sisters Mary Lou Makatura and Kathlene Siminiak. Ilona was married to Robert F. Miller for 49 years and he preceded her in death. Visitation will be held on Friday July 18, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Maison Dardenne Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH where funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
