Henry V Perales

Henry V. Perales, age 94, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on December 23, 2021 at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on August 9, 1927 in Gonzalez, TX to Reynaldo and Anastasia (Villanueva) Perales. Henry graduated from San Antonio Junior School and went on to join the United States Army. During his time in the service, he served as a photographic laboratory technician and a gunner. He would go on to achieve many recognitions during his time in the service, including a World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of Teamsters Local #20 for over 40 years, a member of the VFW Maumee Valley Post #2510, and a member of the American Legion Post #334. He worked as a forklift driver for many years. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, wine-making, playing pool, watching football and his favorite westerns. His passion was coaching his little league baseball team, Nino’s pastime. Henry is survived by his wife, Edwina Perales; children, Shirley Perales, Patricia (Jeffrey) Hudak, Mark (Danielle) Perales, Steven Perales, and Cheryl (Jim) Guerricagoitia; sister, Alice Mendoza; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo and Anastasia (Villanueva) Perales, son, Henry Perales Jr., brothers, Dave Perales, Raynaldo Perales, Ruben Perales, and Rudy Flores. Visitation for Henry will be Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 11a.m. - 1p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon, OH where funeral services will be conduced at 1pm, Thursday, December 30, 2021. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Toledo. Memorial contributions in memory of Henry may be given to VFW Post #2510 or American Legion Post #334.
