Franklin D. “Dan” Jeffries, age 79, of Genoa, died November 1, 2022, at Bay Park Hospital. He was born March 25, 1943, in Moline, Ohio to the late Birthel Theodore and Katherine S. (Mason) Jeffries. Dan graduated from Oregon Clay High School in 1962 where he starred on the football team. After school, he went on to work as a service manager at Spence Buick for many years. He then drove truck for Preston Trucking and Jeep Corp where he retired in 2007. Dan was known by many as Dutch Master through his many years of truck driving.
Dan enjoyed shopping flea markets, camping, traveling in his motor home, and watching NASCAR. He also spent many hours searching for rare collectibles and was a big Raiders football fan. He was extremely hard working, organized, intelligent, and dedicated to his family.
He is survived by his son, Frank (Darla) Jeffries; granddaughter, Rachael Jeffries; great granddaughter, Natalie Jeffries; siblings, Ted (Carol), Lee (Kathy), Jay (Judy), Shirley (Larry) Loy, Jack, Dwight (Cindy), Ron (Glenn Mullen), and David Jeffries; brother-in-law, Mike (Tonda) Nutt; sister-in law, Sharon Nutt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jackie; daughters, Donna Kay and Baby Girl Jeffries; sister, Connie; brother, Terry; sisters-in-law, Lori Jeffries and Sue Gower; and brother-in-law, James Nutt.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 2-8 p.m., Monday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
