Doris M. Jones

Doris M. Jones, age 84, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at Sylvania Care and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family. Daughter of George and Violet Wilmoth, she was born on March 28, 1927 in Toledo. Doris worked as a secretary for various medical offices over the years. At one time she was a member of Dundee United Methodist and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed her weekly Sunday drives as well as spending time and relaxing with her family at Devils Lake. She was an avid euchre player right up to just a few years ago. Doris treasured the times she babysat her grandchildren and idolized them throughout her life. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Lawrence L. Carole Viles III; daughter, Lynn M. Hite; grandchildren, Jennifer Kurt Dinan, Jeffrey Kelly Hite, Lawrence L. Nichole Viles IV, Debra James Dyar; great grandchildren, Brody, Sam, & Charlie Dinan, Lawrence L. Viles V, and Cassie Dyar. She was one of four children born to George and Violet. She was preceded in death by her beloved son-in-law Richard Hite. Visitation was on Monday April 11, 2011 from 4-8 PM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd where services were held Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Interment was at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee, MI. The family would like to thank the staff at Sylvania Care and Rehabilitation Center and Odyssey Hospice for all their care and support.
