Dennis Park

Dennis L. Park, 82, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born on August 10, 1940 in Port Clinton, OH to Howard J. and Rose (Sebastiano) Park. Dennis graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1959 and went on to earn an associate degree from the University of Toledo. On September 25, 1982 in Oak Harbor, he married Sharon E. Mueller, and she survives. Dennis worked as a supervisor for Uni-Royal in Port Clinton for 33 years before retiring in 1998. He was known as a tough, but fair supervisor because he held people accountable for doing it right. He passed this trait on to his sons. The workers respected and appreciated him for that. Dennis even had former workers reach out to him years later and tell him that.

He loved to teach and if you showed interest in something he would stop what he was doing and dedicate his time to trying to help you. He was well known in the area for this and his patience, which gained him a lot of friendships easily. Dennis enjoyed playing cards, golfing, fishing, and hunting, in which he could be found at the Oak Harbor Golf Club enjoying all of his hobbies. He helped cook at a lot of golf outings there and did serve as unofficial ranger at times when he saw people not abiding by course rules. Dennis loved cooking on an open fire and sharing a drink with family and friends. He enjoyed his hunting trips to southern Ohio for deer and turkey and making homemade wine. His favorite drinks were gin and tonic, a good Scotch in the winter, and even a good Vodka at times. His sense of humor and friendly personality will be greatly missed.

In addition to his loving wife, Sharon of over 40 years, Dennis is survived by son, Jeff (Linda) Park, grandsons, Dustin Smith and Jonathon (Sarah) Adams, great grandkids, Alexandria, Jonathan, II, and Samantha, son, Marcus (Aimee) Gardner, grandkids, Isabelle Gardner, Catherine Gardner, Scarlett Gardner, and Logan Gardner, daughter, Stephanie (Mark) Griesmer, grandkids, Olivia Griesmer, Mark “M.J.” Griesmer, Margaret Griesmer, and Lincoln Griesmer, sister, Ida (James) Patterson and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Jamie Michelle Park, and siblings, Gilbert Park, Norman “Scott” Park, Delores DeMars, Delbert Park, and Eleanor Seneff.

A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023 with visitation prior from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Everyone is invited to gather after the services at the Oak Harbor Golf Club, where a final toast to Dennis will take place with continued fellowship. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Dennis may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the B-C-S Food Pantry, or you may plant a tree somewhere to honor him.
