Dennis L. Breneman, Sr.

Dennis L. “Red” Breneman Sr., age 82, of Holland died Monday, April 18, 2016 at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 18, 1933 to Harold A. and Margaret I. (Ford) Breneman. A Veteran of the United States Army, he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War and then he worked for Babcock Dairy for 32 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc, the Joseph W. Diehn American Legion Post #468, a former Boy Scout leader and was very active at the Sylvania Senior Center. He is survived by his loving children, Dennis (Jeannie) Breneman Jr., Margaret “Peggy” (Dennis) Vorderburg, Katherine (Andrew) Keil and Sandra (George) Bauchman; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Tim (Brenda) Breneman; sister, Cindy (Bob) Gere as well as his former wife, Carol Walker. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margaret; brother-in-law, Ken Sieja and his nephew, Lewie Sieja. Friends will be received on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879) where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Joan of Arc, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, Ohio where his family will receive friends after 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Dennis’ name to Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. Dennis’ life was defined by a tragic accident as a young adult. He was a victim who paid the price for the rest of his life. Please don’t drink and drive!
