Dawn A. Kent

Dawn A. Kent, 80, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at her residence. She was born on December 25, 1940 in Marshell Co., IN to Paul and Helen (Hessler) Bauer. On December 22, 1979 in Bremerton, WA she married Bruce Kent and he survives. Dawn earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wyoming and then her Master’s Degree from Pacific Lutheran University. She worked as a college professor at Washington State Community College, Marietta, OH. Dawn was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton. She collected covered bridge post cards, shot glasses, and coffee cups. Dawn enjoyed traveling visiting places such as Zimbabwe, France, Italy, Cuba and 46 of the 50 United States between her and her husband. In addition to her loving husband of over 41 years, Bruce, she is survived by her daughter, Danae (Mark) Barrett, step-son, Gregory Kent, and brother, David Bauer. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law, Kaye Bauer, and her first husband, Bill Bush. A Celebration of Life for Dawn will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 19, 2021 at LaPointe United Methodist Church, 7285 W. Harbor Rd., Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Dawn may be given to LaPointe United Methodist Church.
