Charles R. Andy Anderson, 83, of Toledo, Ohio, died in his home in Point Place late Wednesday evening, April 1, 2009. Charles was born April 5, 1925, in Adrian, Michigan, to Lemert and Mary Mae Corron Anderson. On June 22, 1946, in Williston, Ohio, he married Dorothea M. Oberhaus and she survives. Charles worked for 37 years for Ohio Bell, as a business telephone installer and repairman, and was owner of Seagate Telecommunications for four years. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Point Place, where he served on Church Council. He served in the U.S. Navy as Seaman 1st Class with four medals during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post #135. Charles was Cub Master for Cub Scout Pack 123 in Point Place and was a member of the Ohio Bell Pioneers. Many of Charless hobbies included travel trailer and motor home camping with his sons, granddaughters and friends, square dancing with his wife and friends, sprint car racing, NASCAR, and fishing. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothea, sons, Charles Laura R. Anderson II, Ronald Kyla Anderson, and Daniel Brenda Anderson, grandchildren, Kristin Anderson, Julie Anderson, Troy Stacy Murphy, and Christopher Anderson, and sister, Janet Ron Love. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Taylor and Makenna Murphy. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Lena Ruth Smith, Ellen Wilmetta Kalasz, Evelyn Anderson, and brother, LeRoy Fleetwood Anderson. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. The family has requested memorials for Charles to Messiah Lutheran Church, 4703 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611.
