Beverly Doris Mackey was born on February 13, 1935, at the family farm in Bay Township to Robert F. and Lulu (Petonke) Mackey. She graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1953. Bev retired from the banking industry after 40 years, with Huntington National Bank of Port Clinton being the last.
Bev was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton. She was usually quiet, unless she was bowling or the Cleveland Indians were on the radio. Bev also enjoyed making quilts for all the new born family members. She was known to be a fiercely independent, strong-willed woman, who loved and was loved by all.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Donna Rae (Chio) Mackey; nephews Rodney and Joseph Mackey; great niece, Rebecca Mackey and her loving companion, John Benko.
Bev is survived by her nephew, Duane (Audrey) Mackey of Port Clinton; nieces, Chery Mackey-Wing of Clyde and Judy Mackey of Cleveland; great nieces and nephews, Tom, Nicholas, Sarah, Lynda, Robert, William, Bethany, Amy and many great great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, Ohio.
