Betty J. Mcginnis

Betty J. McGinnis, 81, of Genoa, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty was born September 30, 1928, in LaRue, Ohio, to Ernest and Lucy Rhoades Willmeth. She graduated in 1946 from Elmore High School. On September 15, 1951, Betty married Woodrow McGinnis in Richmond, Indiana, and he survives. She was employed by both Genoa and Woodmore School systems retiring in 1980. Betty was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Genoa, a member of Genoa American Legion Auxiliary #324 and the National VFW. In her earlier years, Betty enjoyed camping. In addition to her husband, Woodrow, Betty is survived by her children, Denise Mike Bryant, Grand Junction, CO, Woodrow Jane McGinnis, Bowling Green, Patrice Mark Zimmerly, Columbus Grove, Brian Sue McGinnis, Genoa and Lisa Reynolds, Toledo; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; her brother, Ernest Jody Willmeth, sisters, Judy Tilson and Susan Lee Goon. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Joanne, and sisters, Gertrude Rewoldt, Norma Weis and Eva Williams. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4th and Main Streets, Genoa. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial gifts for Betty to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 177, Genoa, OH 43430. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements.
